Our Location

Halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne, MUSt@Coonawarra is designed with couples, groups of friends or business people in mind. You can have your own space as well as share time together by booking adjoining rooms taking advantage of the unique entry system. Our communal BBQ area includes an open fire pit, and we encourage you to gather and entertain yourselves here. We are a short stroll or drive to all the Coonawarra wineries and the best restaurants in the area.

All our accommodation options are ground floor with private decks and are suitable for those with reduced mobility. One Luxury Studio Apartment also has ramp access and can be fitted with a handrail and shower stool. A guest laundry facility is available 24/7 and photocopying and printing facilities are available at reception. Airport transfers are available by prior arrangement to Mount Gambier Airport.

Peddle at your own pace around the Penola Heritage Trail while learning about the town’s historic past. Or try the Coonawarra Shiraz Ride – your chance to see and taste the famous Coonawarra wine region where some of the best wines in the world are grown. Bike hire from MUSt@Coonawarra is $20 per day. Cellar doors will generally deliver your purchases to MUSt@Coonawarra or will ship them directly to your home. If you prefer to stay here and enjoy a drink or two, many local wines are available for purchase by the bottle, at cellar door prices, in reception.

Must@Coonawarra can help design a one-of-a-kind full or half day wineries tour with Coonawarra Experiences. Talk to us about a luxury package including your accommodation, lunch, and/or dinner, if you prefer to have someone else take care of the driving, and show you around 'behind the scenes' at some of our outstanding wineries.

Two of our units are available for those that prefer to travel with their pet; our Luxury Spa Suite and Studio #9 are pet-friendly. A $20 one-off charge applies to cover the extra cleaning required before the next guest checks in. Please let us know you are bringing your fur baby!

Must@Coonawarra are proud to manage accommodation services at Cameron's Cottage in the heart of Penola. This beautifully restored and renovated historic cottage set in lovely cottage gardens. Absolutely everything has been thought of and provided for. The cottage can be booked right here on our website.

Must at Coonawarra is within one kilometre from outstanding local pubs, restaurants and shops and within a 400 metres of the start of the Coonawarra Cellar Door strip which extends for over 20km, offering tastings of the world famous Coonawarra wines. We have communal barbecue facilities in a garden setting, free Wi-Fi access and free on-site parking. All apartments have a private deck with garden views. Must@Coonawarra is in the centre of the regional attractions, a few minute’s drive from Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre, a 30-minute drive from Naracoorte Caves. It is a 30-minute drive from Mount Gambier Airport and the 45 minutes drive from the Blue Lake. We are also close to Kilsby Sinkhole and caves in both Naracoorte and Mount Gambier.
